Police are a-peeling for witnesses after 500 potatoes were swiped from a field.
Thieves made a crisp getaway after taking the ‘taters from a field in Hall Road, Outwell, on the night of Wednesday, July 3. If apprehended, the mash and grab raiders could face a roasting in court.
...between 10pm on Sunday 21 July and 9am on Monday 22 July on a field adjoining Basin Road in Outwell. Offender(s) have dug over a section of the field measuring approximately 1/8th of an acre and removed the immature potato crop, weighing approximately 1.5 tons.
A Norfolk Police spokesman said: "It is as yet unclear whether the two crimes are linked or if another gang of spud thieves are chipping in."
