'Hey everybody, Jim Yeager, with Tactical response and today I'm here with my friend, alumnus and attorney Dana McClendon. In my other video I said some pretty volatile stuff, which I apologize for. I do not in any way advocate the overthrowing of the United States Government. Nor do I condone any violent actions towards any elected officials. I was very angry when I made that video, and I didn't have time to reflect on it before it was put up and I took it down very quickly but it was re-posted with my original thoughts. I was mad when I said it. I apologize for letting my anger get the better of me, but, I want make to sure that everybody understands that it's not time for that. It is not time for any type of violent action.'
Yes, those are the latest words from the same James Yeager who just four days ago was making foul-mouthed threats in response to talk of the possibility of President Obama strengthening gun controls. At that time he issued the following 'call to action:'
'Hi, this is Jim Yeager from Tactical Response and I'm kind of mad right now. I just got a news update — today is the ninth of January, 2013 — that Vice President Biden is asking the president to bypass Congress and use executive privilege/executive order to ban assault rifles and to impose stricter gun control. F--- that. I'm telling you that if that happens, it's going to spark a civil war and I'll be glad to fire the first shot. I'm not putting up with it, you shouldn't put up with it, and I need all you patriots to start thinking about what you're going to do. Load your damn mags, make sure your rifle's clean, pack a backpack with some food in it and get ready to fight. I'm not f------ putting up with this. I am not letting my country be ruled by a dictator. I'm not letting anybody take my guns. If it goes one inch further, I'm going to start killing people.'
This new video is also very different from Yeager's first follow-up, which he posted on the 10th and in which he said, 'I probably allowed my mouth to overrun my logic, but I don't retract any of my statements...I did tell you to load your mags, make sure your gun's clean, and pack a backpack. If you haven't done that, then don't call me and ask me what to do next because you haven't even done the first thing I asked you to do...I stand fast with my message. I have drawn my line in the sand: not one more inch.' However, in somewhat of a contradiction to this claim of sticking to his words, he also mentioned that he had taken down the original video and re-posted an edited version, minus the 'I'm gonna start killing people' line.
Perhaps Yeager, who claims he is a former police officer and identifies himself as the 'CEO' of something called Tactical Response, stood down and issued his pusillanimous apology because the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security has suspended his permit to carry a handgun.
