“Some people were saying the books were cooked,” CBS’s “Face the Nation” host Bob Schieffer said of the 7.8 percent unemployment rate that was announced Friday.

“They can join the lunatic fringe of birthers with that,” Axelrod said. “Every single respectable economist has said that is completely nuts.”
