On his radio show recently, Rush Limbaugh doubled down on his infamous statement that, “I hope Obama fails.” He took bizarre delight in bragging that he “was the only voice saying ‘I hope he fails,” and I was severely criticized for it.”
...One thing is undeniable. Rush Limbaugh’s hatred for Obama is so profound that he is proudly and openly rooting for the failure of the United States of America, no matter how many people are harmed in the process, and that’s just sad.

I thought Rush promised to leave the USA if the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act passed. I think he should relocate to a Carribean island location, i.e. Gitmo.

#2 - Thu Feb 23, 2012 9:26 AM ESTRush is a dick, but his comment isn't remotely close to treason. Indeed, what he said really isn't as inflammatory as people make it out to be. The key is quoting out of context.
Rush didn't say "I hope he fails" in a vacuum. He said that he hoped President Obama would fail in what Rush perceived to be his 'socialist' goals.
If one is ideologically against a president - any president of any ideology - and you believe that the president's goals are bad for the country, then you most likely hope that the president fails in implementing those goals. How many people hoped that Bush would fail in his tax cuts?
You'll never catch me saying anything good about Rush (other than Rush the band), but this is one case where he's caught a bad rap. He's still a jerk, though.

The creature is an opiate addict and it's amazing to me that he still has an audience. What's even more amazing is that Bush stole his election not once but twice, white america sat and just accepted it. Then Bush sent the country straight to hell in a hand basket. Yet everyone has a problem with Obama! For the first time in the history of this hell hole called america, we have a REAL president, one who is in touch with the poor, middle class and the wealthy. He is fair and hard working but you people still seem to find fault with the wonderful man who will go down in history with or without your support. Grow up america! If you think Mr. Obama is doing such a horrible job go to whatthe@!$%#hasobamadonesofar dot com and it will change you small minds.
