Congressman John Fleming (R-LA) used bogus information to attack Planned Parenthood. On his Facebook page, the congressman cited an article from the satirical newspaper The Onion, ‘Planned Parenthood Opens $8 Billion Abortionplex,’ to criticize the women’s health group.

While the congressman has since scrubbed the post from his Facebook page, he still is promoting an article from the conspiratorial far-right site WorldNetDaily to claim that Planned Parenthood has abortion quotas.

The Onion, WorldNutDaily - the only difference is that The Onion is more professional.

And the fact that it's so unintentional just makes it even better -- and kind of scary sometimes, too.

No one says you have to have a smattering of intelligence to be a politician. All you have to do is open you mouth and make sounds come out that other idiots understand.
