The Susan G. Komen Foundation, which collects and distributes money for Breast Cancer research and prevention is in the news for withdrawing its (relatively small) grant from Planned Parenthood.
So the Komen Foundation doesn't want to be associated with the nation's largest abortion-provider. But they don't mind partnering up with a handgun maker.
This gun is a beauty.
And a portion of the sale of each P-22 Hope Edition will be donated to the Seattle Branch of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

I can just hear the slogan: guns don't kill people, abortion does.

Considering sales are up at an all time high, esp among women, sonds pretty solid to me.

The bigger point is- where does the marketing end? To fund mission they need to raise money. Komen decided long ago to persue the corporate world. Where is there common sense though?
Does everything you see in the stores in Oct have to be pink?
Gee get $2 donated when you buy a big bucket of chicken that is part of a diet that is known to cause cancer? It's a fine line-.
Part of the problem are the companies themselves. It makes them FEEL they are doing "good" by making something pink..and donating some proceeds, but does it really make it effective in education, providing research money etc?
How about the consumer- you stand there in Oct and see a sea of pink. Makes you feel good you are doing something for the cause..but are you really?
It's not an easy answer, especially in today's world where there is a lot of competition for the donor dollar...
