I am sadly too familiar with these tactics because they were used against the GOP ticket in 2008. The left seeks to single someone out and destroy his or her record and reputation and family using the media as a channel to dump handpicked and half-baked campaign opposition research on the public. The difference in 2008 was that I was largely unknown to the American public, so they had no way of differentiating between the lies and the truth. All of it came at them at once as “facts” about me. But Newt Gingrich is known to us – both the good and the bad.
...we need a fair primary that is not prematurely cut short by the GOP establishment using Alinsky tactics to kneecap Governor Romney’s chief rival.
As I said in my speech in Iowa last September, the challenge of this election is not simply to replace President Obama. The real challenge is who and what we will replace him with. It’s not enough to just change up the uniform. If we don’t change the team and the game plan, we won’t save our country. We truly need sudden and relentless reform in Washington to defend our republic, though it’s becoming clearer that the old guard wants anything but that. That is why we should all be concerned by the tactics employed by the establishment this week. We will not save our country by becoming like the left. And I question whether the GOP establishment would ever employ the same harsh tactics they used on Newt against Obama. I didn’t see it in 2008. Many of these same characters sat on their thumbs in ‘08 and let Obama escape unvetted. Oddly, they’re now using every available microscope and endoscope – along with rewriting history – in attempts to character assassinate anyone challenging their chosen one in their own party’s primary. So, one must ask, who are they really running against?

We know that Newt Gingrich brought the Reagan Revolution into the 1990s. We know it because none other than Nancy Reagan herself announced this when she presented Newt with an award, telling us, "The dramatic movement of 1995 is an outgrowth of a much earlier crusade that goes back half a century. Barry Goldwater handed the torch to Ronnie, and in turn Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt and the Republican members of Congress to keep that dream alive." As Rush and others pointed out, if Nancy Reagan had ever thought that Newt was in any way an opponent of her beloved husband, she would never have even appeared on a stage with him, let alone presented him with an award and said such kind things about him. Nor would Reagan's son, Michael Reagan, have chosen to endorse Newt in this primary race. There are no two greater keepers of the Reagan legacy than Nancy and Michael Reagan. What we saw with this ridiculous opposition dump on Newt was nothing short of Stalin-esque rewriting of history. It was Alinsky tactics at their worst.
But this whole thing isn't really about Newt Gingrich vs. Mitt Romney. It is about the GOP establishment vs. the Tea Party grassroots and independent Americans

Maybe it's more like a ghost writer/translator, instead of just a ghost writer. She rambles on and the writer/translator has to try to make it as coherent as possible -- with Sarah's approval, of course -- which is what dooms it.

There isn't much, if anything, that I've ever agreed with Sarah Palin about, but it's pretty obvious that the GOP establishment hates Newt Gingrich... albeit, probably for good reason.
But this is one of those cases where the enemy of my enemy is my friend... or something like that. Not that I consider Newt Gingrich a friend, but I'd rather deal with a moronic, blowhard that occasionally tells the truth, versus a slimy, entitled, arrogant snake, who will tell anyone anything to get what he wants.
Does anyone have any idea what Mitt Romney really believes... other than he wants to be President so badly that he will say, do and spend almost anything to get what he wants?
Chalk one up for Sarah Palin... she's only got another 10,000 to go to even up the scorecard.

And now the eternal 'victim' of foul play by the lame-stream media is comparing herself with Gingrich and putting herself on the same perceived level of 'importance' and 'foul play' as him. And I don't for one nano-second believe that she wrote that article, as, like has been said, it is far too full of big words that she would not have known how to spell, much less the meaning of, to put them into some semblance of continuity, and in some places it is actually rather coherent. It is all just one more of her many lies and is nothing new. The endoscopy is not at all relevant and seems to be something thrown in to appease Palin's fetish for exaggeration and making things even more extreme.
That she believes the lie that Gingrich would name her to a cabinet post is pathetic, but, her rush to defend him and compare him to her own 'victimization' by the 'lame-stream' media in order to try and endera herself to him and make them sound like equals is even more pathetic. The way the truly are equal is they are both losers, liars, unethical and adulterers.

I used to be a member of the social site Propeller. We had a member whose site name was Endoscopy.
This has his type of unbelievable propgandist type rhetoric in it. The use of the word endoscope made me flash back to that member. He and I had many a debate.
Yep, he would be for Gingrich and that type of mentality. He was all for SP, and he and I discussed her endless lack of anything needed to be a good leader. I of course still believe she is a POS as proved by her denial of the truth. She was never a valid candidate for anything except a right wing call girl.

She was hard pressed to kill the Caribou she was trying for on her own reality show, when she was hunting with ther dad and some other people, who had to carry and load the rifle for her, and show her how to hold, brace and fire the rifle. It took more than one or two shots to finally take down the animal. Her 'kill' was a farce, and she nor the poor animal deserved her 'happy dance' afterward, as she did nothing to be proud of.

I saw 5 minutes of the show where she clubbed the fish to death, first she wanted Bristol to do it, Bristol looked at her with pure disgust. So Palin did it and you could tell she enjoyed it.

I had both an endoscopy an colonoscopy at the same time. It was the total pits. I would vote for both for Gingrich, although, they would likely not find anything different in either place than what comes out of his mouth.

It was Joe Scarborough and some at his 'Morning Joe' table who observed early on that Newt Gingrich was the father and author of what we are currently seeing in the GOP political discourse. In other words, Newt started it. However, he can't seem to take what he's been dishing out.
Newt takes a person's strength and makes it the opponent's weakness. He's a pass-master at code language, ginning up vicious reactions in crowds, and frankly, he turned out to be a louse Speaker. Palin has a considerable amount of warts, too.

Palin, no need to get too deep here. The facts about you were all true. That they were reported is not smearing or a hit job but normal everyday reporting. That you made it easy speaks to your stupidity, another fact.
If Obama had shown up on-stage with a pregnant daughter he and his wife would have been slaughtered by the religious right, not 'embrased' for their 'courage'.
