A Tea Party For Obama?

Yeah, you read that right. It looks like not all Tea Partiers are die-hard conservatives with no brains. A Tea Party group has seen the light and is supporting President Obama for re-election. The website is called Tea Party for Obama and their message is simple. President Obama is the ONLY choice to lead our country because the conservative candidates are “incompetent and weak.” This is the welcome message on their website:

“The Tea Party for Obama is a group of fellow citizens like yourself, that have come to the conclusion that the conservatives in our land are incompetent and weak, and therefore, our only alternative is to back our President and embrace the hope and change he plans for our great nation.”

.................

Our Mission

We strive to bring the truth to light. We have no hidden agenda or single cause to endorse. Ours is but a simple task…Freedom to live our lives without governement interferance, lower spending, fair taxes and a health care system that reduces spending and creates a health and happy nation.

Our Values

We value the truth without bias or opinion. The truth is what sets us apart and here is where you will find it.

Our Beliefs

We manned up and realised that the problem is that the recession began during the previous administration. And while it certainly worsened for the first year of Obama’s term, there are now signs that the economy is slowly improving. Unemployment is reducing and we are more secure not that bin Laden is no longer walking the earth.

We’re tired of getting criticised for not having a plan to back up our boisterous protests, we’re tired of being called racists, we’re tired of being called nutjobs.

So we looked at the situation with clear heads and realised that barring any true, qualified leader on the right, Obama is the only choice for 2012.

It may be hard to believe but a Tea Party group is in fact endorsing President Obama over every single Republican still in the Presidential field.

If it's legit, it's only one group, and it'll be interesting to see the reaction of the others.

What's the acronym for "Tea Party in name only"? TPINO? Because I'm sure that's what the other tea partiers will be calling them!

But like you say Carloz, if this was a legitimate Tea party group who has recognized the truth about what has been happening in our country, it's good news!

The polite ones may limit themselves to that.

Geez, I guess all teabags aren't @!$%#ing morons after all. This group must be the exception to the rule. They'll be denounced real soon by the ignorant fascist majority.

While I support this group's stated mission and think they're correct in believing the president is the best candidate to further that mission, I have to say I'm extremely skeptical that it's an actual US tea party-aligned group.

That mission page contains three examples of British/Canadian rather than standard American English spelling ...

Just guessing here, but if I am correct, this is very clever. There are a lot of disenfranchised republicans out there right now, what better way to get them on board than with the TP logo. You have to see it as a deprogramming effort.

I just thought of a possible reason for that -- the person who wrote the page was a member who is either an immigrant or dual citizen, or the group contracted someone to create the site who is British or Canadian or Irish or some other Commonwealth citizen.

There are a lot of disenfranchised republicans out there right now, what better way to get them on board than with the TP logo.

Very true.

LOL, but true, too.

I will hold my applause until the Fat Lady sings. It is interesting, but, off the top of my head, I'd beware of any wolves bleating in sheep's wool. As pointed out else thread, the wording itself is suspect, just a little too 'friendly,' and just too 'belly up' in their attempt to sound supportive and agreeable. Not at all like the guns and snakes associated with the Tea Party that has been tearing the country apart for the past 2-3 years.

Perhaps the GOPTeaBags, seeing how it has been able to tear asunder the GOP until it is nothing more than corporate toxic waste, is now going to try doing the same with the Dem's. I for one say "No thanks. Americans have had more than enough Tea with no sympathy."

They, certainly, should change their name. Perhaps, they should just say they are Democrats? The teaparty moniker is rather soiled, stained and rife with the connotation of idiocy. Any support, however, for the true good of the Country is fine by me.

But perhaps they are not Democrats. If they can talk sense to any other Tea Partiers, fine with me.

This just in--- The supposed Tea Party group supporting Obama are residents of the State Hospital for the Criminally Insane. A quote from the leader of the group" We wanted to support a candidate who's ideas were as looney as ours are"

    You could have fooled me.

Now I am just waiting for the "they're not real tea party" whiners to show up.

Hmmm.....if this is legitimate this could be a Tea Party member I could have an intelligent conversation with.

I'm not sure I believe this, but time will tell if they are legit or not.

I agree about the legitimacy, however if they gain any media traction, I want front row seating for the ensuing slugfest.

The tea party came out loud and bold

    All in a unison chorus

Their hatred shows in the signs they hold

As liberals, we know they abhor us
