Here is a weekend factoid for you: among all living politicians in the United States who have ever held elected office, Hillary Clinton the most popular.

That's right. Ever since she became Secretary of State, her favorables have soared into the mid-60's, putting her well clear of any other statewide officeholder in the country. The only national figures who are viewed as favorably as Clinton are Michelle Obama, Colin Powell, and David Patraeus. However, they have never run for office, which invariably lowers your favorables.

Some have said that, in choosing Joe Biden as Vice-President, Barack Obama did not pick a successor to lead the Democratic Party. However, that needs rethinking. Because Barack obama made her Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton remains remarkably well-positioned to run for President in 2016, even more so than she was in 2008.

I'd love to see her run -- and win!! -- in 2016!

I do not see her running for Prez...and I am not against her running for the position... by that she may not want to run..Standing next to wingnuts can raise ones self esteem..as well as being knowledgeable...especially for her...but I doubt she will run.

In the long run, I think, making Clinton Secretary of State was a brilliant move. She'll have much more on her resume to claim the nomination for President in 2016. I'm not thinking Biden will run.

It also keeps Hillary close to Obama while doing her own thing. Obama's move of making her Secretary of State was right out of Machiavelli's playbook.

Well she was my second choice as President for the 08 election, not that there wasn't many choices.

If there is one female politician that does deserve to be President it would be her though. If it hadn't been for the unexpected black horse Obama Clinton would be President by now.

Clinton 2016!!!

She was not exactly my favorite politician when she first made her first serious steps up the political ladder. I sure got that wrong, she is doing a remarkable job from where I sit.

As for 2016, I really do think she could make it, and I hope she try's for it - as others indicated the experience she will gain in her current appointment is going to be perfect to run for President.

Her day-to-day activities are not scrutinized by the media (or the right) in her current position. All we see is visible successes.

If she can steer away from controversy, she is more than just a contender in 2016. She will be a successor.

I backed her in 08 and I'm sure many will next time around.

she's better than any candidate on either side of the isle. Plus diplomatically other countries will know exactly where and how she stands.

Everyone knows it's really Mom who whips the house into shape. Maybe if more women ran the world more would get done in the same amount of time with less ego and violence.

there is nothing that can't be solved over a good cup of coffee and a rich piece of chocolate ......... nothing. But Moms know how to break out the strap if need too.

at least where I come from.

That's not inherently a good thing.

Probably not. Women are capable of being just as violent as men are, it's just due to social conditioning you don't see it.

Maybe we will get out of these "wars" with Hillary.
