Although I'm fairly bullish on Sarah Palin's prospects of winning the Republican nomination, I also subscribe to the conventional wisdom that, were she to be the nominee, she would have an awfully tough time against Barack Obama in 2012. Could she beat Obama? Of course; politics is a world of probabilities, not certainties. But she'd likely cut Obama quite a lot of slack.
Matthew Dowd, the chief strategist for George W. Bush's well-run 2004 re-election campaign, makes the opposite case in today's Washington Post. Unfortunately, I don't think Dowd's arguments are very sound.
Caveats abound, of course -- this conclusion too is based on some fairly limited evidence. But if you told me that Obama's Gallup approval rating was 45 percent on Election Eve 2012 and that his opponent was Sarah Palin, I'd put my money on Obama and feel pretty good about it. And if Obama's approval ratings were instead in the 47-51 range that Dowd specifies, I'd give Palin very long odds of defeating the incumbent.
Oh Carloz, I love your seeds, you never fail in getting a giggle out of me.
Thank you bud!

Title aside (and I know it's direct from the source) this is a great article. I love Nate Silver's analyses; I wish I'd had someone like him in my stats classes - I might have done better!
That was an interesting fact from the comments: no losing VP candidate has ever come back in the next election to be elected President and only one loser as VP candidate has ever gone to be elected president and that was FDR 12 years after losing as VP candidate.
Obama/Clinton 2012
Biden steps down, Clinton steps up!
Clinton/Latino 2016 and 2020
Latino/Billionaire White Guy 2024 and 2028
^ Why put "Latino" in there. Now your wanting someone to be VP / President based on their race and race alone. That's racist.
I just have to say that Obama could actually kill a member of my extended family with his own bare hands, and I would still vote for him, if the only other choice was this terrible caricature of womanhood called Sarah Palin.
I just have to say that Obama could actually kill a member of my extended family with his own bare hands, and I would still vote for him, if the only other choice was this terrible caricature of womanhood called Sarah Palin.
That's funny, and I know you're kidding. In that spirit, I'll second that and throw in a campaign contribution if I could select the extended family member (from MY family)!
I was completely serious.
I'm sure Obama would have been sufficiently provoked (knowing my family, well) if it came to this.
Sarah Palin is the living embodiment of the most deplorable traits of the American mindset.
"The Ugly American" doesn't even begin to encapsulate the horror I experience every time this woman claims to speak for some subset of our society.
I will never vote for a neocon. As a moderate conservative I love my country to much and will always vote country over party.
As for Latinos being on the ticket get use to it in 30 years they will be the majority. Unless we have some king of aggressive immigration reform and I don't see that happening neither party wants to lose the Latino vote.
Obama could go to a KKK rally and pee in the punch and still beat the Wasilla Hillbilly! Hell Pat Paulsen if he were to run against her would kick her lying ass back to the Great White Man north! And When Pat Paulsen was funny he meant it! Sarah tries to be serious and get more laughs than ten comedians combined
I will never vote for a neocon. As a moderate conservative I love my country to much and will always vote country over party
Congratulations.
The GOP has become a freak show and an embarrassment to any rational person who used to call themselves Conservative, proudly.
I just have to say that Obama could actually kill a member of my extended family with his own bare hands, and I would still vote for him, if the only other choice was this terrible caricature of womanhood called Sarah Palin.
All I can say is-thank-you, thank-you, thank-you
you betcha!
Truthfully, I am not sure anymore.
I was screamed at, cursed at, and spit at, while carrying Obama yard signs in my small Midwestern town.
Now, I am starting to question whether or not President Obama is a leader or a coward.
Palin is less intelligent than most bacteria, but, she might fight against Corporate, Wall Street incest with our Government.
Heyhey Carloz, I am with you on this:
Matthew Dowd, the chief strategist for George W. Bush's well-run 2004 re-election campaign, makes the opposite case in today's Washington Post. Unfortunately, I don't think Dowd's arguments are very sound.
I feel Obama can do another 4 years, if he can get the economy and jobs going within the next 6 months to a year.....and inspire companies to do the same....We are good
Sarah Palin is making better money with her book and will focus on another career!
She didnt follow thru and finish her governship, the public won't need her for President.
Good article Carloz!
Good article Carloz!
Yeah, I read the "Yes, She Can" article and thought about seeding it in a "Puleeez! What a stretch!" sense, but then came across this one, which puts it in it's "when pigs fly" perspective. Of course, Dowd worked for George W. Bush, so 'nuff said.
He could be in a vegetative state, starting tomorrow, and still beat Wailin' Pailin.
Her theory on whats wrong with America has more holes in it then Ray Charles dart board... And I for one Still admire the man!!
Or how much can Palin be bashed in the media and still be Obama? Or if the economy is still a disaster in 2012 Carloz could beat Obama.
Sarah Palin is clearly the most formidable of all potential republican nominees and the GOP should do everything in its power to make sure she is the standard-bearer in 2012. Obama is quaking in his boots at the very thought of having to face Palin one-on-one. Her intellect, her grasp of world affairs, her empathy for all people, her feminism and her keen insights into the most high-priority domestic issues makes her hands down a clear possibility for the presidency.
I for one plan on taking a republican ballot in the Illinois primary and voting for Palin. If she isn't on the ballot, I'm writing her in. I think we should initiate a Draft Palin movement that would sweep her through the Republican primaries.
;-}
;-}
;-)
I'm hoping she gets nominated, too -- that would practically guarantee 8 years.
"Dewey Defeats Truman"
History repeating itself? Hope not.
dwillie,
As a die-hard-Republicans-aren't-conservative-enough-voter, please, please, please, please...do not do this.
Just because the Left has decided to vote for someone completely unqualified and devoid of any form of common sense and smarts simply because of celebrity status and personality, does not mean we have to lower ourselves to the same standard. Albeit, Palin is still more qualified than Obama to be president, and I have a lot of respect for her - I think she is a very good woman who has been pummeled mercilessly in the media - neither she nor Obama can offer any kind of decent answers to the problems we face. We are in real serious times right now and we need leaders who can face those problems with deep, meaningful, hard answers instead of celebrities who look good on camera.
Don't get me wrong - I love Palin. She's great and, again, totally superior to Obama, but she's still wrong for the job. Obama is MORE wrong for the job, but we need to get back in touch with reality and throw our support behind a strong, intelligent leader.
I disagree with you JaxDad. Sarah Palin is simply terribly misunderstood, as most geniuses are. Her mix of special and unique talents, along with her strong ability to connect with, listen to, and heed the wishes of real Americans, makes Sarah Palin the right leader for our times. She is more qualified than Obama. She is more pro-American than Obama. She better reflects true American values. We need to buck-up and get behind a true leader.
Run Sarah, run!!!
She's great and, again, totally superior to Obama
Will you email the url so I can sign up too? I could use the additional income.
Sarah Palin is simply terribly misunderstood, as most geniuses are.
Please tell me that is satire.
dwillie-
Your response actually makes me think you're on the Left and either employing extreme sarcasm or intentionally trying to get Republicans to back her to ensure that Obama gets another 4 years to screw up America. Sarah Palin is a misunderstood genius? What special and unique talents does she possess?
Again, please don't misunderstand me. I think she's a good woman and deserves a lot more respect than she gets from the Left. But she's no genius and she's not a good leader. And, again, yes, she's superior to Obama in every way, but that's not saying much. My large turd yesterday was more qualified than Obama is to be President. Palin and Obama are engaging personalities who look good on camera and can deliver a great speech, so long as the notes/teleprompter are in front of them. But when you get down to it, neither can communicate real, substantive answers to the huge problems we're facing. Both are extremely shallow in terms of ideas and leadership abilities. I'm sorry, but these issues are way too important to me to follow celebrities who can't really fix things - I want someone who cares less about doing the interview circuit (both of them are guilty of this, but it's even more sad that Obama is president) and focuses more on solving problems.
Kate-
Thank you for your reply. Your comments have really made me consider my positions more carefully and look at things from another angle. Your contribution to this discussion has been invaluable and I look forward to more of the truth bombs you will be dropping on my mind grapes. Fantastic job. You really brought a different perspective into this conversation. I'm gonna add my vote as well. Again, thank you.
Who would do then? Do you think there is a person that is adult enough to handle the job of President?
Maybe we need to resurrect Ronald Reagan.
Dave-
The treasured corpse of Ronald Reagan would do a better job running the country than Obama or Palin. Probably combined.
The question isn't "Is there anyone adult enough". I don't think any man is big enough for the Presidency. But what we need are leaders. Leaders with ideas. Neither Obama or Palin fall into this category. We need someone with experience in issues like this (Governors) who can communicate effectively. And no, Obama is not a good communicator. He is an above-average read-alouder. Though I don't agree with all of his politics, I think Mitt Romney is one of the few people, in either party, that falls into this category. And unfortunately, he got the "Hillary" treatment. I think Hillary is a beast and might actually have serious relationship with the devil. If they never officially dated, he at least got to 3rd base. However, she's a much better leader than Obama. It just so happened that the bright, shiny thing wooed everyone and she got dumped. Romney was our best hope - I fully believe that - but he got pushed out by the personalities that favored the spotlight instead of actual work and issues.
What we have now are both parties in love with the celebrities of their parties. I dare say politics has been completely dumbed down by the presence of Obama and Palin. We're not focused on visionary leaders who are not afraid to fail in their efforts for real, substantive solutions. We love whoever makes the better story and then treat them like pinatas for our amusement.
So, in answer to your question - yes, I believe there are those who are "adult" enough to handle the job - but their last names aren't "Obama" and "Palin".

Not worth it, Blue; the war on drugs is still going and the prison industry is still growing.
I concur. Run Sarah. I'll even donate to your campaign fund. ;-)
Don't worry, she'll lose in the primary to Lou "Pro- Immigration" Dobbs.
This crap just gets better everyday.
Next they will grow an electable candidate in a petri dish, since none can be found on the planet.
Blue-I thought they were anti-science.
They will claim it's all part of Intelligent Design which points to a higher power mandating their rule from above.
Holy @!$%#, I just scared myself with how plausible that sounds.

You are joking, of course!! Terribly misunderstood???? You mean terribly incompetent!!
Unique talents???? Talent for putting her foot in her mouth with her stupidity!!
Connect, listen, and heed real Americans???? Yeh, I'd really like to see her in the inner cities!!
More pro-American who reflects American values???? You mean like shooting wildlife when they 're cornered, having hands laid on her, voting against women's rights and issues for our troops!!
Just imagine her in a meeting with world diplomats..........this is just too hard so I'll have to quit!!!!
True leader??? Of what????? Divaness????
The treasured corpse of Ronald Reagan would do a better job running the country than Obama or Palin. Probably combined.
For my query about Reagan I would have accepted "that's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard".
At that it was baited question. I got my answer.
We are in real serious times right now and we need leaders who can face those problems with deep, meaningful, hard answers instead of celebrities who look good on camera.
Hence my query about Reagan who wasn't a lawyer. Obama on the other hand actually taught constitutional law, was a congressman, etc. Sarah, as far as education received a masters in communication. More on that later.
But her history as Governor speaks volumes to her fascist ways. She fired ANYONE that dissented against her if they were in position to which she could.
Another interesting thing about Sarah that I had just learned is that she wanted to be a sports announcer, and was for a spell at a couple of radio stations in Anchorage. Interesting goal given the mouths that occupation has produced, a Rush comes to mind.
Qualified? So far in this thread we have been shown another radio personality that majored in communication and journalism, a dead actor ( I mean no disrespect as I actually liked Reagan ), and a constitutional lawyer.
Who's qualified again?
Ok, Dave, let me clarify the "Celebrity" thing. I'm not taking about occupation. I'm talking about mindset and approach to governing. I don't care if Obama WROTE the Constitution - his entire approach is one of a mindset of celebrity. Was Reagan a celebrity? He was in occupation. But when he governed, was he concerned about appearances and perpetually on the campaign trail? No. He was a leader- a statesman - not a celebrity. Obama acts like he believes what the media says about him and he eats it up. But at least I can be fair about it - Palin's that way, too. Both Palin and Obama are so focused on being in front of the camera and being loved (or hated, so long as the attention is on them) that they sacrifice leadership on the altar of celebrity. Obama and Palin are not leaders - they are personalities. Reagan was not this way.
Which, again, only leads me to say that Reagan's glorious corpse would be a more effective leader than the two top dogs of both parties combined. I'm not saying Palin and Obama are bad people - they're just shallow and don't offer much substance. At all.
My guess is that President Obama would have to screw up royally for Sarah Palin to have any real shot.
For the record, I'm not a big fan of either. If those were the two candidates, I'd vote 3rd party.
I am a middle grounder. A serious flip flopper between parties. My support of business and hate of taxes makes me Republican, but my dislike for those that push religious and moral supremacy and my support of the right to choose makes me a Democrat. Lets just say I am a centrist.
That being said does anyone really think Palin could be a legitimate President? Keep in mind I also think that Obama was not and is not qualified either. Someone like Ron Paul would destroy both them in a debate. A real debate, with real questions that are not staged. Neither Obama or Palin would even dare step toe to toe in a one on one debate with Ron Paul. He would have them in tears crying for their speech writers and researches to come help.
The GOP has no real legitimate candidate. Until the party realizes that the young professionals like myself can't get behind some bible thumping right winger, the party will have trouble. The problem is that we can't get behind a socialist, bleeding heart liberal either. Can't we find someone in this country that understands the freedom of choice, the need for fiscal responsibility, and the need for smaller gov't and that has the guts to say we will help those truly in need, but the rest of you need to get off your a$$ and take some responsibility for your lives without waiting for the gov't to cuddle you?
GOP has to decide if they're going to stay with being right-wing nutjobs or move to the moderate center.
If they do the latter, then the Reps have a good chance at defeating Obama. The big question is whether the progressive Dems will even keep Obama unless he starts living up to his campaign promises: public option health care, get the hell out of the middle-east.
I see the 2012 campaign as a great possibility for a totally right-wing TEABAG party supporting Palin, the GOP becoming centrist and supporting somebody like Gingrich, the Dems continuing to support Obama, and the left-wing forming a HELLNO party with who knows who as their candidate. Maybe Kucinich will be back in the game?
A four-party split would be fabulous.
Speaking as only one member of the progressive left of the Democratic Party I can say that, if he caves on the public option and/or escalates the war in Afghanistan, then I'll be boycotting the 2012 general election completely and not voting at all, though I'll most likely support someone like Kucinich in the primaries.
Speaking as another, but still only one member of the progressive left (although of no party in particular despite a tendency to vote for Democrats), I don't intend to boycot any elections but I will not be supporting any candidates who fail to fight for (and deliver) the public option.
RDS at #8.1 stated in part:
then I'll be boycotting the 2012 general election completely and not voting at all,
and there is how Sarah Palin could win the Presidency in 2012.
@SpoxLogic #8.3: excellent point.
Failure to participate is participation in failure.
Decisions are made by those who show up
If she does, she does. I will not however support someone who failed to deliver on a public option and who escalates a useless war in Afghanistan.
Speaking as another, but still only one member of the progressive left (although of no party in particular despite a tendency to vote for Democrats), I don't intend to boycot any elections but I will not be supporting any candidates who fail to fight for (and deliver) the public option.
I hear that
If she does, she does. I will not however support someone who failed to deliver on a public option and who escalates a useless war in Afghanistan.
That's true too. The escalating war in Afghanistan is indeed a disappointment, and the use of cowardly drones and indiscreet killing in Pakistan is also a disappointment.
Setting that aside for a minute though, up until the point that Obama gave issue to Afghanistan no one really gave a damn about it. To me the war on terror was officially over ( as if it ever existed ) when they handed over Afghanistan to NATO.
Of course it is useless, war is useless. Daily I get a little more disappointed with the US and the world stage where we try to make progress, then we turn right around and do not sign the landmine treaty. On a world stage our nation is of the mind set that it is only ok when we do it.
It would be interesting to see the end result of the climate summit. End result after all the posturing of the US, I'd bet we don't sign it.
How Bad Could Obama Screw Up and Still Beat Sarah Palin?
All the time I thought he was running against John McCain. It looks like it has been pretty easy for OBAMA to screw up, or at least he makes it look easy....When does he go on his next sight seeing trip?
My guess is . . .
. . . you didn't read the article.
Mary Ellen Galloway
My take on this "labeling" thing. I really think the repugnants rightwing nuts have tagged our

Do you have the same belief about book titles?
I'm not surprised. This is the same group that counts pages, as opposed to words, when it comes to figuring out how long it takes to read something.
Do you have the same belief about book titles?
Look, I was commenting on the Title of this ??? article....If you are going to write a book would you Title it "How Much Faith do you have in the Stock Market" and then fill the pages with RECIPES? I don't think so...

Well, I suppose it's slightly better to only comment on articles you haven't read, than on books you haven't read, but you still might want to re-think that and read articles before you comment.
Carloz
If it will make you feel better I had read the article....2012 election.....but still he has already screwed up and he will probably lose to whoever runs in the election....I doubt it will be Sarah Palin....but you liberals are so afraid of her and you fear that she will run against him...She could accomplish more in office than he has which is nothing...I wish she would run...you all will just have to wait and see....I hope we can all endure the next 3 years....God help us all...
Obama could not beat any real politicians or govenerer in a fare race. I mean come on, Obama is a community organizer that looks good for his age, talk nice, sounds hip, poplar with the hip hoppers and happens to be black. Other than that he has nothing going for him.
The media will destroy anybody that runs against Obama now.
Funny....he beat McCain...who beat all the other GOP candidates, and now you insist he couldn't beat any 'real' politicians?
If he's so incompetent, how has the media destroyed everyone else? Certainly Faux and Rush can put the right message out there, can't they? Or are they part of the MSM that hates the GOP so?
He's not perfect, but he's light-years ahead of ANY of the goobs the GOP put up last time.
"Other than that he has nothing going for him."
His time at Harvard certainly was wasted, as was your education.
ACORN stole the election. My country would never have voted for a man like Obama. I think Palin could win. She's purty and likes to hunt.
Keep telling yourself that... Maybe you'll get lucky and Sarah will come visit your trailer park on her campaign tour...
You'll be "Ralph the Conspiracy Theorist" in election 2012!
Yippee!
ACORN stole the election. My country would never have voted for a man like Obama. I think Palin could win. She's purty and likes to hunt.
Oh that was TOO funny.

Obama could not beat any real politician in a fair race
are you saying the 2008 general election was fixed ?
Obama has pursued such a socialist agenda and the result will be such failure he will not make it through the next election. His poll numbers are falling fast as America has realized we have placed in office the village idiot.

Wake up, wake up! It's not 2007 or 2008 now - it's already near the end of 2009. The village idiot left D.C. by chopper in January. Didn't you hear the crowd below humming the familiar tune:

Anser two your question:
1. There was no GOP candiate running, just a pretender.
2. The Media and the Liberal party set out to slander and destroy anyone that said anything bad against their King.
Conservatives like myself, really had no one to vote for. Even with all this in King Obama favor, it was not a landslide victory. Obama is totally beatable in 2012

As to #1 - I guess you should get working for your party to get some real candidates.
As to #2 - WTF? "their King"? "The Media set out to slander"? We heard all about Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers but the traditional media said nothing about John McCain dumping his crippled, disfigured first wife - the one who waited patiently while he was a POW - for socialite heiress wife #2, next to nothing about the Keating 5 mess. John McCain was hardly a "war hero" or an "honored veteran" but his military credentials were never questioned; neither were his personal (lack of) moral values.
Seriously, I hear this "King Obama" and "Messiah" crap from GOP folks all the time but no one who is credible on the left thinks of Barack Obama in that light and I'm fairly certain you and the radio/tv blowhards know that but find it such an attractive smear that you just won't put it down.
Is President Obama beatable in 2012? Sure - every sitting President can lose a bid for reelection. Today I really don't care. I hope he's focusing on doing what he was elected to do and not on being re-elected (although I'm not naive enough to believe that's entirely the case) but it's what I voted for him to do. I think it's foolish to speculate about an election that is 3 years away, but then I think much of what passes for our system of government is foolish.
Is President Obama beatable in 2012? Sure - every sitting President can lose a bid for reelection.
OBAMA can't do what he promised to do, because he is so busy campaigning for 2012...I say OBAMA put your ACTIONS where your mouth is....do something!
I do not know who is electable for 2012...but I don't think that it is OBAMA....there are still is fans wanting him to be there only because who he is and not looking at what he is doing to hurt our COUNTRY..
Someone said OBAMA-Clinton in 2012....would he diss BIDEN? And would CLINTON run with him after he dissed her in 2008? He is doing a lot of what would IMO be a lot of her job....doesn't he trust her after placing her as SOS...
I think Clinton is doing a great job as Secretary of State and Biden is great right where he is. I'd still rather have Biden as president than Clinton if President Obama became unable to serve.
OBAMA can't do what he promised to do, because he is so busy campaigning for 2012.
I disagree, but time will tell.

My take on this "labeling" thing. I really think the repugnants rightwing nuts have tagged our President "King Obama and Messiah" out of a passive-aggressive methodology. They are either confused -or uninformed - or both!
These nuts don't realize that the labels they have chosen are synonymous with "righteous and admirable" and are the highest zenith possible! If that's what they want to call him, it is alright with me.
In addition to that, it would seem that I was bragging if I called him that myself as a supporter, so let them go ahead and refer to him as that. But watch, as soon as they read this posting and see my take on what these labels infer, they will stop using those terms. Just watch and see.
I think Clinton is doing a great job as Secretary of State and Biden is great right where he is. I'd still rather have Biden as president than Clinton if President Obama became unable to serve.
Are you serious??? Lets hope by then someone else is in the WH that we can trust and depend on... As I said you Liberals, and Dems and far left folks just want him there because who he is....but the numbers are dropping....a lot of people are sorry they voted for him.
I think Clinton is doing a great job as Secretary of State and Biden is great right where he is. I'd still rather have Biden as president than Clinton if President Obama became unable to serve
Did you think that Hillary would go Alexander Haig if Obama were unable to serve, there is a Chain of Command......however Hillary is nowhere insight and that is a good place for her...in the case of N. Korea, they wont speak to her and show utter disregard for her, which I guess I dont show much for her either, But Biden which the administration has to come behind and correct everything he says, you think is a better choice.....Joe Lieberman would have been a better choice that all three.
Joe Lieberman would have been a better choice that all three.
OK, billy, now I know where you're coming from.
yes and we know where you are coming from ...big deal .....none of them will do the right thing and none them have your best interest at heart ... At least Lieberman would try to do right by the American people.
Lieberman can't even determine where his loyalty lies in a two party system.
Good luck with his interest in you as an American.
Good, Lord!
billy witchdoctor:
Lieberman can't even determine where his loyalty lies in a two party system.

Lieberman is as big a joke as Palin!!! But I guess the witchdoctor would like to lay his hands on her!!!
Chuck
re#15
See you in 2012 OK ? or not, fine either way with me
Obama is concurrently campaigning for POTUS 2012 and President of the world as soon as he is enthroned.
I think a third-party candidate would get voted in before Palin.
Hm, what is the right wing version of "yellow dog democrat"?
I don't know how they would be classified. They just wouldn't run as a democrat or republican.
what is the right wing version of "yellow dog democrat"?
Moderate Republican. Not many of them left.
I'd vote for Reagan's exhumed body before I'd vote for Palin.
I'd vote for Hitler's testicle rather than Palin.
I'd vote for Hitler's testicle rather than Palin.
Left or right? I'm with you on the left but only 85% certain on the right.
Hitler only had one testicle so the distinction of left or right, doesn't apply.
Who knew?! (Well, apparently you did!)
So much for my feeble attempt at a joke. ;~}
Not a problem.
The joke is really on Hitler's shriveled sack and some irrelevant woman who thinks the country is dumb enough to elect her as leader of the free world.
Now that is FUNNY!
Anyone else in 2012.
As I said you Liberals, and Dems and far left folks just want him there because who he is....but the numbers are dropping....a lot of people are sorry they voted for him.
"because who he is"?
JB
"because who he is"?
Exactly...Somebody that came out of nowhere, campaigned for the presidency and wins? Why do you think? Certainly wasn't for his experience....
Honestly, who would have thought OBAMA's chances of winning against Hillary Clinton were a possibility 2 years ago. The man had no experience, and didn't vote on many of the bills presented to the senate during his 2 years in office. I would say Obama merely needs to screw up just a little bit less than George Bush in order to keep his office; otherwise since we've already accomplished getting an incompetant black male into the presidency, why not an incompetant white female?
How Bad Could Obama Screw Up and Still Beat Sarah Palin?
How bad will Obama screw things up before he realizes that he is the problem and instead of worrying about Sarah Palin decides to do the right thing and either not run again or fix the problem?
The Lefts infatuation with Palin is absolutely intriguing and so largely responsible for her growing wealth and popularity. Afterall, look what they did for Rush!
Well said....it wasnt their intention and look what happened and they wont quit ..... they will have the same problem will healthcare and they wont stop that either
Government + Health Care = Political Suicide
Its not the left that made Rush rich, it was the millions of people who depend on Rush to tell them what to think--hence the term "dittohead".
Ahhh, but of course.
Happy Thanksgiving.
I don't mind her getting as rich as can be -- especially if it helps to keep her sights off the WH!
I agree.
What do you think possesses most financially endowed folks to run for office anyway, particularly at the national level? They know what the position pays going in and the headaches it promises. Patriotism? Me thinks not! I say ego and personal gain are the motivators.
I say ego and personal gain are the motivators.
Could be -- and Palin seems to respond to those, but I suspect she likes money best of all.
Ego, personal gain, power, and in Palin's case, ATTENTION, you betcha'.
You cannot be serious... Her intellect??? Her grasp of world affairs??? Her empathy for all people??? Her keen insights??? Are you kidding me? The turkey that Obama pardoned would do a better job than her... I'm not kidding... See this is what I can't understand... Even if you hate Obama and disagree with him on everything, how, HOW can anyone think Palin is the best person to replace him? That's crazy talk...
I feel like i've entered the twilight zone here... Seriously... It's insanity to even mention Palin in the same breath as Obama... Sarah Palin is about as qualified as Paris Hilton... People are nuts...
I think Paris is as intelligent as Palin. She doesn't hunt or wink though.
Paris has more money and probably more friends.
Paris is a marketing genius. Sad but true.
Ahhhhhh I see the party of compassion is alive an well this fine Wednesday!!!! Since me and 47% of American didn't vote for Obama. Its safe to say we'll vote for a turnip with a tie before we vote for him in 2012. I agree in part. Obama is clearly smart enough to run America into the ground?
P.S Independants approval of Obama up for Obama lawlololololol!!!!
MSNBC needs to inform VA and NJ. They didn't get the memo.
Is it too late to re elect Jimmy Carter?
Sad truth is for you Libs is Obama and his teleprompter don't even compare to Sarah Palin. You call her dumb fine but she doesn't need David Axlerod on a teleprompter to say what she needs to say.
In 1 year Obama has outspent 16 years of Clinton and Bush Jr combined. Soooooo much to be proud of :)
Your talking points are outdated and sad.
There is a fine reason Obama has had to spend as he has.
I'll give you a clue:
He was a pathetic excuse for a president from 2000-2008 and he let his Darth Vader impersonating VP raid the country's coffers in the name of a false freedom.
Who could it be?????????
Blah Blah Blah!
Is it too late to re elect GW? Your Spender in Chief is a discrace. Once again America will have to repair all the damage Liberals have caused! Again!
Isnt Liberalism covered under your Med Insurance? Clearly not!
I like Obama and Pelosi's problem solving skills. Their isn't a propblem in America those two can't throw more money on lol!!!!
Seriously, thats all those clowns do!!!!! Give me an issue that their remedy in not MORE MONEY!!!!
