In Maine, Mike Heath presents himself as an positive force for the "pro-marriage" People's Veto. He claims to be an asset to the team that wants to rollback marriage equality. But if we didn't know better, we would swear that this man (who is affiliated with Focus on the Family/Family Research Council) is an operative for our pro-fairness side
In an August 7, opinion column published in Brunswick’s The Times Record entitled, “A ‘cloud of error’ hides the ‘light of reason,’” Heath suggests that the rainy weather and blighted crops that have plagued the State of Maine this summer are due to the evil of the legalization of gay marriage.
And also in the news:
A "serious budget shortfall" at Focus on the Family has prompted the conservative Christian group to issue a special fundraising plea, and contributed to a decision to cede control of its contentious "Love Won Out" conferences about homosexuality to another religious organization, a spokesman said Tuesday.
The events will go on, instead staged by Orlando, Fla.-based Exodus International, a network of ministries whose core message is "Freedom from homosexuality through the power of Jesus Christ."
The American Psychological Association last week said mental health professionals should not tell gay clients they can become straight through therapy or other treatments.
