Hillary Clinton unveils new pro-Obama effort - Political Intelligence

advertisement

Senator Hillary Clinton announced today a new grassroots effort to get her supporters to fall in behind one-time rival Barack Obama.

"As we continue to read the headlines about our troubled economy, the stakes of this election only get higher. Today I am asking all of you to hit the phones, hit the road, and spread the word that we must elect Barack Obama President and we must send a filibuster-proof majority to Congress," Clinton said in a statement.

"This is a call to action. We all have a role. And there is not a moment to lose," added Clinton, who is attending a private event today in Boston. "Tell them that Hillary sent you."

The effort is being organized by Clinton's political action committee, in conjunction with Obama's campaign and other Democratic campaigns, and will launch Saturday morning at her PAC's website, where there will be information on canvassing, phone banking, blogging, and other activities.

Each weekend, the effort will focus on a different battleground state, starting Sept. 27-28 in New Hampshire. Pennsylvania is scheduled for Oct. 12-13. She won both states during the primaries.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

What high ranking position do you think Hillary will get if Obama is elected?....Secretary of State perhaps.

She'd be great, but she might want to remain as Senator. I think she'd be a great Supreme Court Justice when a vacancy comes up.

Hillary never saw a lie she didn't embrace and take sor her own. She'd never pass the smell test to be appointed to the SC. Her scandal sheet is too long and too involved. http://prorev.com/wwindex.htm Remember those billing records from the Rose Law Firm that stayed on a table in the library of the White House for eight years and "suddenly" were found.

Old news iamright-492840 -- and from such an "objective" source! Go peddle it somewhere else.

3.2 We call that old news "history". From what I have been reading, objectivity has never been a concern among the ultra liberals. The audicity of deceit better defines the thinking of so many here.

iamright, the Rose billing records were missing for a couple of weeks, not eight years. And one of her office assistants 'fessed up to having put them away with other boxes of papers without realizing what they were. Can you tell me with a straight face that you've never misplaced something important when you moved to a new house or office? I can't -- I've lost airline tickets (ouch, expensive!) and boxes of books that I needed. They all turned up eventually, but I was hunting high and low for ages for them. And neither Clinton nor her staff knew when she moved her home AND office to D.C. that Starr was going to subpoena everything in sight, including her laundry lists and ATM receipts from 20 years ago, only to find absolutely nothing.

Speaking of Starr ... sure don't hear much about him these days. Wonder why he's keeping such a low profile? Don't suppose it has anything to do with finally being ashamed of himself? No, that can't be possible because a person would have to have some ETHICS for that to happen. Probably has a lot to do with what the silent majority think of the tactics he stoop to using during the witch hunt of the Clintons. What a jerk!

I think there is no doubt she will be appointed to a top cabinet position. In fact it would help the Obama camp to leak that potential appointee to the press and quick. I predict he would see a huge favorable shift in the polls upon an announcement of that magnitude, the Hillary supporters would be more inclined to come home.

How common is it to announce appointments before getting elected? I suppose he could preface it with, "If elected..." but he'd still probably be accused of arrogance or something along the lines of "elitism."

Secretary of Education would be a natural for her. We'll see, however, whether she wants a cabinet position or wants to follow Ted Kennedy's example of pursuing her political career in the Senate. Either way, she'll be an important figure in American politics.

I wonder how Maureen Dowd is going to spin this to try to prove that the Clintons are sabotaging Barack Obama? I'm sure she won't let a little thing like having been wrong every step of the way so far stop her.

Well, I don't know what her official title will be, but when Obama get's elected they will all have to put on the muck boots and spend a few months shoveling out all that elephant @!$%# from inside the White House.
